Business Success Starts with Only One Thing

The GKIC Super Conference last week did not disappoint.

As I mentioned last week, the trip to Orlando was full of challenges. And, as I suspected, many great things were in store for me by way of things I learned and contacts I made.

This was my first big trip since I became a full time RVer. If you’re thinking, “He lives in a van down by the river,” it’s not like that, but I do appreciate the humor.

I made this lifestyle several years ago, and actually put it in place five months ago. It allows me to serve my mentoring clients more effectively and it gives me a chance to explore and discover, two things that are very important to me.

I had to make many changes in my life to make this transition a reality and the challenges continue on a daily basis.

This brings me back to the Conference. I want to share the most important point. A point that every speaker agreed upon.

That point is, to have a successful business, the most important ingredient is YOU.

Whether it’s to change a lifestyle or to grow your business to the next level, YOU are the most important factor that will determine your success. Only you can take your life or your business to the next level – only YOU.

There are many ways to approach this challenge. Some are faster than others, such as having a coach or a mentor, but success does not suddenly find us, we have to do the work and then success follows. And we will be challenged along the way, that’s just the way it is.

Remember to get to that next level, you need to grow first. I like to think of it as growing into the next level.

Speaking of that, the 6-Figure Trainer’s program is exploding right now. If you are looking for some help getting to your next level, our new programs may be just what you need to catapult you there.

During the next week, set an appoint with yourself to consider, and write out your answer to, this one question: what about me do I need to work on to get my business to the next level?

Remember, you will only get results if you take immediate action on your ideas.

To your success!

3-4 Thursday 4/19/18

This is going to be really short and to the point because I am at the GKIC Super Conference in Orlando, Florida. My goal is to take the 6-Figure Trainers program to the next level.

While I am happy to be here, I have to tell you getting here was a trip from you know where. I had all kinds of travel challenges that tested me and took me to the limits.

This is actually a very good sign. I have learned that whenever we make a quality decision to go to the next level all kinds of things happen in our lives.

These challenges are also common with all of our clients. I am certain you have experienced this in your life, too.

I believe the bigger the challenges the bigger the opportunities. I have seen it play out numerous times.

So given the challenges of the past two days, I am anxious to get to the conference.

Great new things are on the way and I can’t wait to see how the next two days go.

Look for an additional “bonus” email this week.

Remember, you will only get results if you take immediate action on your ideas.

To your success!

From Discouraged to the World Championships

This past weekend Greenville was the host for the 2018 Duathlon National Championships – Team USA.

One of my friends was competing and it was a great opportunity to catch up as well as be around a sport that is near and dear to me.

She was recovering from injuries to her feet and had not ran in several months. The event consists of running, then biking and another run to complete the Duathlon. Her lack of running could have been a problem, but she has a long history of running and once she got going everything worked fine.

There are two events in the Duathlon. The days differ only in the cycling portion. On the first day drafting is allowed during the biking portion and on the second day drafting is illegal.  This really requires two different bikes. And there is a huge advantage to a Tri bike on the second day.

My friend had not brought her Tri bike (for the second day) and planned to just use her road bike if she in fact decided to compete the second day. The truth of the matter is that she was discouraged to the point of not really being into the race, although months ago she had entered the race with great expectations – to qualify for the world championships in Spain in 2019.

The first day of racing was discouraging. She had a great run but placed far out of contention for the qualification goal. Discouraged, she decided to compete on day two, but knew she was at a huge disadvantage without her Tri bike.

This is where it gets exciting.

With a little bit of hustle, we were able to get my Tri bike set up for her.

This was a game changer for her. She rode nearly 2 MPH faster and was thrilled with her bike ride and the whole race.

I got a call from her right after the results meeting and she was ecstatic. She had qualified for the Worlds in Spain next year. She said my bike is going to Spain with her.

Having the right tools can make all the difference. In her case the bike was the tool that made all the difference. It empowered her to overcome the obstacles, even her own self-doubt.

That’s why I created the 6-Figure Trainers program, to put the most powerful business tool in your hands – a business coach/mentor.

In all businesses, there are times of discouragement and frustration. Sometimes we lose sight of our dreams, our version of a wildly successful business that seems to keep eluding us, yet we know it’s possible.

It does not have to be that way. Use the right tool and in a short time you will amaze yourself and everyone around you.

Be a Disrupter in the Fitness Industry

The day before Easter I took the motorcycle out and rode to Cowpens National Battlefield.

The Battlefield had been on my list of things to do for a while and the visit did not disappoint, although I was very surprised at what I found.

I had watched the movie “The Patriot” with Mel Gibson several times as a way to entertain myself during some very long bicycle rides on the Computrainer during the long winter months. I knew the movie was loosely based on the Battle at Cowpens and I was anxious to learn more about this decisive Battle so important to the Revolutionary War. .

When I think of major battles, my mind always imagines hundreds of soldiers and expansive rolling fields, similar to what one sees at Gettysburg, and the Battle of Gettysburg lasted for several days.

I won’t get into all the details, but the American General Morgan wisely used his resources to resoundingly defeat a much larger British Force. Morgan used his weaknesses (as perceived by the British and many Americans as well) to his advantage and turned them into strengths. Morgan was disruptive, doing things differently than conventional wisdom.

Want to be successful in business? Be a disrupter.

Think about it. Doing the same thing as the guy down the street and hoping to have a more successful business is pretty limited thinking that will produce predictable limited results. The key to differentiate yourself from the market is by doing something a little (or a lot) different. Be a disrupter.

You don’t need a campaign or a huge marketing budget to get started. For instance, how do you answer the question a stranger asks about your business and what you do?

Be a disrupter and have an answer that separates you from the competition, an answer that leaves the stranger knowing immediately that your business is unique and different/better than the competition.

This only takes a few minutes and it will change the course of your business.

By being a disrupter, General Morgan changed the course of the war, and the course of history in battle only lasted 20 minutes!

Want more ideas on how to get a market advantage by being a disrupter? Check out the P.S. below.

Remember, you will only get results if you take immediate action.
