Be a Disrupter in the Fitness Industry

The day before Easter I took the motorcycle out and rode to Cowpens National Battlefield.

The Battlefield had been on my list of things to do for a while and the visit did not disappoint, although I was very surprised at what I found.

I had watched the movie “The Patriot” with Mel Gibson several times as a way to entertain myself during some very long bicycle rides on the Computrainer during the long winter months. I knew the movie was loosely based on the Battle at Cowpens and I was anxious to learn more about this decisive Battle so important to the Revolutionary War. .

When I think of major battles, my mind always imagines hundreds of soldiers and expansive rolling fields, similar to what one sees at Gettysburg, and the Battle of Gettysburg lasted for several days.

I won’t get into all the details, but the American General Morgan wisely used his resources to resoundingly defeat a much larger British Force. Morgan used his weaknesses (as perceived by the British and many Americans as well) to his advantage and turned them into strengths. Morgan was disruptive, doing things differently than conventional wisdom.

Want to be successful in business? Be a disrupter.

Think about it. Doing the same thing as the guy down the street and hoping to have a more successful business is pretty limited thinking that will produce predictable limited results. The key to differentiate yourself from the market is by doing something a little (or a lot) different. Be a disrupter.

You don’t need a campaign or a huge marketing budget to get started. For instance, how do you answer the question a stranger asks about your business and what you do?

Be a disrupter and have an answer that separates you from the competition, an answer that leaves the stranger knowing immediately that your business is unique and different/better than the competition.

This only takes a few minutes and it will change the course of your business.

By being a disrupter, General Morgan changed the course of the war, and the course of history in battle only lasted 20 minutes!

Remember, you will only get results if you take immediate action.

To your success!
